Handling avocado
I was doing some "research" on how to handle avocado since baby R is about to try it. Normally, if you put lemon juice or juice from citrus food, it will stop the browning. But I don't really want to put it in the baby food. In general, people say:
- it's ok to put a bit of lemon / lime / orange juice to stop browning because the amount is very small
- just allow it to brown. it doesn't affect the taste and nutrition
- use pectin (used to make jam), it does the same thing as lemon
ok.. so there's not much choice. so i just let it brown. surprisingly, it's been almost 7 hours I put in the fridge. there's no sign of browning!!
