Few days ago, I was visiting a friend who is also on mat leave and live very close to Greek town. Had a great lunch and a VERY LONG walk! Feeling so good to live so close to everything. Basically, everything you need... groceries, restaurants, bakery, etc, is within walking distance. Because of that, I actually tried to walk to the closest grocery store from my home. And it only took me less than 20 mins. I guess when the weather is nice, I can walk with baby R.. i mean with a stroller of course!
My mat leave has more "color" recently. Not sure if it's because my sun allergy seems to be improved a lot (if not totally recovered), I can go to lots of places without worrying the sun rashes. Or maybe because we got a car seat on my mom's car, so that she can take us out when I don't have a car. Or I start to get a hang of what's a stay-home mom is supposed to be (yes.... it took me that long!!). Anyhow, i have a bit more than a month before going back to work. Time flies!
I've been making a list of what I wanna do before going back to work.
1. Craft day
YES!! One day that I will do nothing but to make cards or other paper crafts items
2. Baby R's scrapbook
I'm supposed to start working on it when baby R was 6 months. I hope I could finish it shortly after his first birthday but I don't have high hopes on it. :P
3. Read more parenting / child development books
I think those kind of books are like leadership or mgmt books that I've been reading. There may not be a lot of whole new concepts in it, but once you read enough, you can just apply it without knowing. There's so much to learn as a parent... well... as a good person as well!
4. Make cupcakes
From the cupcake book that I borrowed, I wanna try out a few. Hope I have time, and also enough guinea pig to take the cupcakes. haha
5. TBD
I really don't know. What should I do to conclude my mat leave? I think cake decoration courses are good accomplishment. I wanted to learn flute, but not enough time.... maybe i can do it in my next mat leave... haha.. if it happens. :P
