Spinach not good for babies?

Someone told me that spinach is not good for babies because of nitrates. So I did some google search and found out there are veggies that have higher nitrates level, but it should be ok for babies 6+ months. There is another source saying that when spinach is left in room temperature, its nitrate level rises. Therefore, if it's not eaten immediately, freeze or put in the fridge.
